General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)

General Nursing and Midwifery or GNM is a 3-year course with additional and compulsory 6 months internship at a healthcare establishment. Students who want to build a career in nursing can pursue this course.

Besides 3 years of theoretical knowledge, future nurses need to undergo a 6-month mandatory internship in a healthcare centre to gain practical knowledge. These centres can be nursing homes, hospitals, etc.

Eligibility
The minimum eligibility criteria for students are to complete Class-12 in Science Stream. Admissions to our institute are made through an entrance exam set by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board.

The course is designed to help students learn about the various technicalities involved in patient handling. Nurses need to take care of the patients and assist doctors in providing quality healthcare to patients.

Scope of GNM
Therefore, students who aspire to build a career in nursing should pursue this course. After completing the course, you can work as a staff nurse, home nurse, community health worker, basic health worker, rural health worker, etc.
